The Daimler investment of 300 million euro in Romania was initialed

The representatives of the German auto group, Daimler and the Minister for major projects, Dan Sova, signed the agreement through which the auto manufacturer will invest in Romania an amount of 300 million euro, announced the Department of national infrastructure projects and foreign investments.

Daimler will invest over 300 million euro in its subsidiary in Romania, Star Transmission, to serve the peak of demand segment of gearboxes and transmission system components for Mercedes.

The Daimler production unit, Star Transmission, was established in 2001. Currently, the company and the approximately 800 employees in Sebes and Cugir produce components for engines and gearboxes of the current Mercedes-Benz passenger cars and gearboxes for older models for provision of spare parts.
