The European Electric Vehicles Conference, Brussels, 26th of May 2011

Forum Europe in cooperation with CEPS (Center for European Policy Studies) invites you to attend a one day conferenceThe European Electric Vehicles Conference” in Bruxelles, on the 26th of May 2011.

The conference will focus on the development of electric vehicles in Europe. It will address several fundamental questions, including:

- Has a sufficient case been made for electric vehicles and what challenges lie ahead?
- Will Europe deliver an infrastructure capable of facilitating the roll-out of electric vehicles?
- How will the consumer experience be guaranteed and what options are available to incentivise electric vehicles?
- Will Europe be left behind or could electric vehicles spell a technological step-change?

With passenger cars (including light vans) accounting for 12% of all CO2 emissions within the European Union and even with the significant reductions stemming from the recent CO2 emissions standards, EU GHG targets beyond 2030 cannot be met
without a technological step-change. Electric vehicles over the longer term offer excellent prospects for innovation, growth, jobs and EU competitiveness within the global context, however the work required before 2030 will be key.

This event will gather around 200 stakeholders and registration is now open. There is a fee of €150 to attend.  European Commission, EU Parliament other EU institutions attend for free.
