"Sustainable Economy" Conference, Donegal, September 12, 2012
Donegal County Council organizes on September 12, 2012 in Donegal, Ireland the final conference of the Co2Free project - Cooperating 2 Foster Renewables and Energy Efficiency, funded within the Territorial Cooperation Programme INTERREG IVC.
During the conference there will be presented the results of the exchange of the best practices in areas such as renewable energy, energy efficiency and transport of the 10 regions members of the consortium project, from 8 European countries - Ireland, UK, Sweden, Bulgaria, Spain, Austria, Finland and Romania.

West Region is represented by West Regional Development Agency in Co2Free project consortium which consists of 10 members - local and regional authorities, European networks and specialized organizations on specific areas of sustainable development - from 8 European countries (Ireland, UK, Sweden, Bulgaria, Spain, Austria, Finland and Romania). Co2Free project started in October 2010 and will end in December 2012.
The two action plans developed by West RDA within the Co2Free project fall into two of the five areas covered by the best practices identified in the project: sustainable construction and renewable energies.
Thus on the one hand, are pursued the development and implementation of technical solutions adapted to different types of buildings in the West Region in order to increase their energy efficiency and on the other hand is aimed to increase the use of biomass as a renewable energy source for housing heating in the West Region.
