On 8th of November 2016, AUTOMOTIVEST cluster together with TEHIMPULS - Regional Center for Innovation and Technology Transfer conducted a specialized visit to ELI (Extreme Light Infrastructure) Laser Research Centre, Szeged, Hungary.
The visit was intended for a group of selected members from the two organizations, aimed to present the ELI Szeged team, what technologies will be implemented and the possibilities of cooperation after ELI’s operationalization.
Initiated in 2005 and included in the Roadmap of the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRI) in 2006, the project Extreme-Light-Infrastructure (ELI) aims to investigate the diversity of scientific and research applications of ultra-intense and ultra-short laser pulses.
Launched in November 2007, the preparatory phase of ELI covered nearly 40 research and academic institutions from 13 EU Member States. The three pillars of the project, consisting of different infrastructures, will be located in three countries: Czech Republic, Hungary and Romania.
ELI-Hu Kft., a hungarian limited liability non-profit company, whose shareholders are the municipality of Szeged, Hungary and University of Szeged is the legal entity responsible for the implementation of "Attosecond Light Pulse Source" ("Source light pulses at atosecunde level") infrastructure of ELI.
